ISRC Codes Request
What is an ISRC?
An ISRC (International Standard Recording Code) is an international means of identification of sound-recordings and music-video. The ISRC code is unique to every record company/rights holder and can be used to identify royalty payments.
An ISRC code consists of 12 characters and separated into 4 elements:
IE AAA 26 00001
- Country Code: represents the country of residence of the registrant, IE = Ireland
- First Registrant Code: identifies the rights holder of the recording at the time the ISRC was allocated.
- Year of Reference: identifies the year in which the ISRC was allocated to the recording (26 for 2026, 27 for 2027 etc.)
- Track Designation Code: is assigned by the rights holder/producer and consists of 5 digits. The Numbers are assigned sequentially, i.e. 00001, 00002 etc. In each new calendar year this designation code should reset to 00001.
Note: there are no hyphens or spaces in the ISRCs

Track Registration Form
The PPI Track Registration Form is how rights holders tell PPI exactly which sound recordings belong to them. It captures the core recording data for each track, including the ISRC, track and release details, main artist, label, and the registered company or partnership, along with your contact information. Registering is what connects each ISRC to you in PPI’s records, so that when your recording is played on radio, TV, or in public, the royalties collected can be correctly identified and paid to the right rights holder. It’s a one-off step per set of recordings, but it only works if the data is complete and accurate, so the form should only be completed once you already hold your ISRCs and have all the required track information to hand.
