If you use copyright recorded music in public you will need a PPI Licence, including CDs, radio, TV, PC, ipod or any other means. "Public" means anywhere outside the family circle.
PPI was established in 1968 to act on behalf of record company rights in the public performance, broadcasting and reproduction of their recordings. PPI also collects royalties on behalf of performers.
The money that businesses and broadcasters pay gives record companies, other rights holders and performers (and not just the big names) the income they deserve.
